Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening

The purpose of thermal reconditioning is to chemically break into the hair shaft and allow the chemical to penetrate the hair, thus changing the structure of the hair. The basic biology of the thermal reconditioning is to introduce amino acids into the hair cortex where they are heated. This process allows the hair to become straight and silky without damage. The chemicals used in this process are less aggressive than those found in a relaxer, and the treatment is formulated to allow the stylist to be able to adjust the strength of the solution.

The designers performing this service at Salon Cabochon have undergone intensive training at the Liscio Institute in Los Angeles. Being able to recognize that not all hair types are suited for thermal reconditioning is very important. However, we are able to prescribe an in-salon and home care regimen that should prepare your hair for a future hair straightening service. Consultation required.

Are you the type of person who dreams about your short hair being longer, or your fine hair being thicker? With hair extensions, you can now have that luxurious hair that you have always wanted.

What are they?

Hair extensions are small strands of hair attached to ones natural hair by different methods to temporarily lengthen or thicken ones hair for a natural or dramatic look. At Salon Cabochon we use 100 percent protein rich human hair. With a large selection of colors from which to choose, it offers a great variety of possibilities to fully bring out the creative person in you.

Damaging/at home care

Hair extensions are not damaging to your natural hair, if properly cared for and maintained. You can treat your extensions like your natural hair. The hair extensions used at Salon Cabochon are designed to withstand natural elements such as heat, water and sunlight. You can blow dry, curl and shampoo your hair extensions without issue. However, it is important not to apply any conditioner to the base of the hair extension, where the extension is bonded to you natural hair as it may cause the extension to loosen. Hair should be shampooed after swimming. When combing your hair out, start at the bottom of the hair shaft and slowly work your way up. You don’t want to sleep with wet or even damp hair; this could lead to hair matting together. Longer lengths of hair should be braided before going to bed.

Cancellation Policy

If the bride wishes to cancel any or all appointments booked on her wedding day she must do so at least two weeks prior to her wedding day. Otherwise, she will be charged in full for the appointment(s) booked.

The Salon would be happy to service brides on days we are normally closed if there is a total of four appointments scheduled. There will be an extra gratuity added to these services.
